Parents Guild

The purpose of the CAPA Parents Guild is to come together to advocate for students, CAPA, and Cottonwood/AMES as a whole. It enhances and supports the educational experience at CAPA and develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement. It is a solution-oriented group where members are encouraged to connect rather than complain. Members help improve the environment at CAPA through volunteering their time, skill, and resources. We are building the Guild from the ground up this year, along with CAPA itself. We hope that through working together we can create an incredible organization. We are open to hearing any ideas.
Things the Guild can Accomplish:
- Find volunteers to contribute pre-packaged snacks for students to eat during rehearsals.
- Facilitate feeding the cast, crew, and orchestra for each late night rehearsal.
- Contact various restaurants and food businesses to see if they would provide a meal or a snack.
- Contact businesses to purchase advertisements in our programs, or sponsor events.
- Gather volunteers to sell concessions, usher, sell merch, and run break-a-leg-o-grams to dressing rooms during the Fall Musical and various concerts and events throughout the year.
- Help distribute posters to advertise the shows.
- Gather enough donated goods or services for our chance drawing during Competition Showcase.
- Assist in acquiring funds through sponsorships, donations, fundraisers, or writing grants.
- Probably much more that we haven’t thought of yet!
LEADERSHIP - Additional roles may be needed as we progress.
