Frequently Asked Questions

"Is CAPA a separate school from Cottonwood?"
- No, CAPA is a program embedded within Cottonwood High School. Sort of like a state within a country.

"Can I be in multiple tracks?"
- No, CAPA students must pick a track to enroll in. However, we encourage everyone to take classes across the performing arts department and broaden their horizons.

"Can AMES students join CAPA?"
- Yes! AMES students are welcome to join CAPA. We have created a custom track that keeps up with their AMES requirements. Click here to see AMES tracks.

"Can I still do the SLC certification if I join CAPA?"
- Yes! In fact, there is a specific SLC certification designed for each CAPA track! In order to complete the certificate, we move your 2.0 World Language Credits from required to optional.

"Do I have to take Dance as my P.E. credit?"
- If you are in the Theatre Performance track, yes. You are required to take dance classes as you P.E. credits. However, the other four tracks have a wider variety of Physical Education class options. But we do encourage everyone to take dance!
